Labradorite Pendant in Silver
Lore of the Inuit people claims Labradorite fell from the frozen fire of the Aurora Borealis, an ordinary stone that transforms to the extraordinary, shimmering in a mystical light that separates the waking world from unseen realms. Labradorite is treasured for its remarkable play of color, known as labradorescence. The stone, usually gray-green, dark gray, black, or grayish-white, is composed of aggregate layers that refract light as iridescent flashes of peacock blue, gold, pale green, or coppery red. The predominant blue varies within the light, displaying hues from deepest blue to various shades of pale, almost blue-green. Labradorite is one of the most powerful protectors of the mineral kingdom, creating a shielding force throughout the aura and strengthening natural energies from within.
This beautiful blue flashing labradorite has a dark undertone of deep olive green. The rose cut facets sparkle in the light as the labradorite shimmers blue colors.
The labradorite's fine silver bezel setting measures 3/4 inch tall, including the bail, and 5/8 inch wide. The setting has a tarnish resistant silver closed backing and two small hammered rings for the bail. This gem has minor natural inclusions and fissures throughout its interior, as is common in labradorite, as well as a few small areas on parts of the surface, that do not detract from the overall appearance of the gem and its labradorescence. This pendant comes with a faceted sterling silver chain in 16 inch or 18 inch is ready to ship.
