Jewelry Care

To care for your silver, gold or gold filled item, it can help to not have it exposed to open air.  Placing it in a plastic bag or other plastic container can help to prevent tarnishing.  Silver & gold can eventually tarnish over time.  The best way to remove the tarnish from silver is to rub the piece with a silver polishing cloth.  Wright’s Silver Cream also works very well on silver. You can use a gold polishing cloth for gold. “Brasso” polish works very well to immediately restore the color and lustre to brass or to gold filled items.  Just apply with a soft cloth and rub the tarnish away. Please try to protect your item from any water damage by trying not to swim, shower, wash your hands, or wash dishes with the jewelry on.  If your stone is clear with a silver backing, please do not let the ring have any contact with water or get any residue under the stone.  Opals are especially soft, porous and fragile and can absorb water, liquids and chemicals and can cause damage to your opal.  Natural gemstones and metals can absorb chemicals and/or minerals in the water or liquids and can cause discoloration or damage, so please be protective of your precious jewelry pieces.

Depending on the type of ring, I may be able to resize your ring for you but some rings cannot withstand heat after a stone is set and would be unable to be resized.  I sometimes can enlarge your ring by a small amount at no charge with you covering shipping.  I offer a resizing service that begins at $30.
